“In an effort to better understand the impact of globalization, Huang’s work mixes both traditional and non-traditional techniques and materials, and attempts to bring together the use of weaving and binding as a metaphor. As functional objects, his work suggests the commonality of our basic human needs.  As sculptures, they celebrate the diversity of materials and the intrinsic qualities these materials contain.  Combining bamboo, bronze, rattan, wood, steel, and acrylic, his work and interests reside in the realms of Contemporary Studio Furniture, Fiber Arts, and Sculpture”
